Events

An event space in Gastown with kitchens to gather around.

We have hosted dozens of events here, including design talks, presentations, cooking classes, corporate gatherings and private celebrations. The hall holds up to 60 people.

Food and drink

Cook on the spot, or bring the food in.

The live kitchen has eight working cooktops with downdraft ventilation, so a class, a demonstration or a chef's table can cook right in front of your guests. Tell us what you plan to serve and we will talk it through.

The mezzanine bedroom and wardrobes can be part of your event too, reached by stair or elevator.

Good to know

Planning an event here

How many people can the space hold?

Up to 60 people at a time. That is room for a full crew with talent and clients, or for a seated or standing event.

Can we cook on site?

Yes. We have a live kitchen with eight working cooktops, each with downdraft ventilation, and it is where we run our cooking classes and demonstrations. Tell us what you plan to cook and for how many people, and we will confirm it suits the kitchen.

What does it cost?

Rates depend on the date, the hours and the kind of use. Send us a few details and we will reply with a quote.

Can we visit before booking?

Yes. Visits are by appointment, and the best way to judge the space is to walk it with your camera person or producer.

Do we need insurance?

Yes. We ask for a certificate of insurance for shoots and events, and a short location agreement before we confirm a date.

Where do trucks and equipment go?

Load in through the bay on Abbott Street, or through the main double doors, which are 11 feet wide and open onto both Water Street and Abbott Street. There is no on-site parking, and a few commercial spots on Abbott are first come, first served. Gastown is a busy shooting neighbourhood and most crews arrive with their own parking plan. We are glad to talk through load-in before you book.

Tell us what you have in mind.

A date, a rough idea and the size of your group is enough to start. We reply in plain terms with what is possible and what it costs.
